Six years ago, when she slipped and fell off a boat, Tamara Loiselle found she lacked the strength to climb back on. The event almost made real a recurring dream of drowning she’d had since childhood. Tamara survived and made a vow to get fit. This determination eventually led to her competing as an amateur triathlete.

In December 2014 these and other synchronicities converged in the pounding surf off a Cancun beach where two strangers found themselves in serious trouble. Training and competition gave the mother of two the physical strength she needed to consider the dangerous ocean rescue. But something else inspired her to overcome her own fears and enter the water to save the lives of the couple.

The events of that fateful day and the inner journey that followed were the impetus for Tamara’s first book, “Called To Courage: A True Story.”

Today, Tamara speaks inspiringly about her experiences and her profound realization that each of us is called to “something.” Her evolving mission is to help others discover their own calling by opening their hearts and listening to their intuition.

Tamara has a Master's degree in Psychology and Counselling, and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science. She is part-time faculty at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada, and is also President of Tamarack Strategies. There, she develops education and training programs and provides communications and facilitation services.

In 2010, Tamara was awarded a Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of her work with Aboriginal communities and the environment.
